I'm not gonna act like I'm big on books cuz I don't read nearly as often as I should ,but in High school ,one book that stuck was William Goldings "Lord Of the Flies".I remember it being terrifying in some areas not because of the imagery per say but the characters got really dark as the story progressed .No spoilers but i always doodled them in my textbooks -stayed up to do quick sketches of em' .Go read the book! I made my very first sculpture this week. It turned out to be THE most therapeutic thing I have EVER done (I was also listening to Sade and The XX at the time but that irrelevant) . Spent about 3.5 to 4 hours on it ,I've been told he looks like Steve Beuschemi, Gollum and ,Willem Dafoes love child. Getting to the end of the year ,reaching certain checkpoints in projects such as this one, and not so much in others -__- oh well. Trying to keep busy , here's some more work from the group film I talked about a couple of posts ago, A lot has changed(naturally).The first 3 images were done tonight , expect more stuff soon ,there's a lot of it. Took me like 20 minutes to post these cuz blogger was being dumb. Also something I noticed while doing the top post -it's weird getting halfway through a drawing of a character and realizing which one of your friends it is! It's been happening a lot lately the last 4 things I doodled in my sketchbook looked just like friends ,what can i say they make for dope characters. Enjoy.

Couple of nights ago, I was with those Sketchy dudes I mentioned a while back : Freddy,Adam, Ollie & Michele -at Adam and Michele's shiny new apartment. And the night inevitably turned into what was probably the best art-jam session I've been a part of.These are the 20 minute drawings that came of it ;From the top : B-ball turtle, Mutated kids from the future, Steampunk dog pilot, Post apocalyptic Viking woman(I basically drew a dude with boobs ha!) ,Crazy Tentacle bitch, Samurai Fish-man & Biker croc. Fun times - It's always good to have people who keep you sharp and are willing to do stuff like this .

Last weekend I went to Montreal to visit a friend and attend some of the shows at the Osheaga music festival which hosts over 100 recording artists and Dj's from all around the world. Needless to say it was epic! When I was there I got turned onto some bands that I didn't really listen to ,one of which was Crystal Castles -the lead signer Alice Glass put on an amazing show.She was almost creepy(every time she sang into the mic it was robotic /distorted). Been quite busy lately sorry for the lack of posts but it'll alll be worth it soon ;) more to come .

I wanted to try a new way of digital painting it was fun I learnt a lot-I'd change a lot but oh well.
This Zee a revisited version of a character I designed and posted last Summer. I'll be posting the full poses, expressions and turn arounds soon.

I figured for world of monkeys -It'd be weird if they dogs. So I decided to make em' own pigs .For example, Chihuahua=teacup piglet. A Bulldog=Warthog and a Pitbull=Hyena as seen above haha-More designs soooooooon :)
Oh and finally The Macaque Monkeys. I was drawing and overheard my roommate Carlos watching Life-it was episode about monkeys and they were talking about how Japanese Macaque monkeys are hierarchical and only some of them can sit in the warm spring to warm up and the others have to stay out in the cold depending on who they're parents are ...Thought it was interesting-So yeah theses guys are bad news and no. A day outside...

*EDIT- Last night (June 7th 2011) Perin,Ben and I watched a thunderstorm and chilled it was pretty badass B-)

On Tuesday, Ben was moving out of his apartment and he had an old but HUGE t.v he was gonna get rid of...Sooo I decided to go pick it up for my place. I originally thought it'd be a breeze wheeling this thing along the side-walk across the block...I thought I was stronger,I thought T'v's were lighter-I learnt a lot that day. Ben will elaborate on the details in a short comic soon .
At least I got to spend the day outside ...Enjoy! And go outside...It's not gonna last forever :)

Listened to Erykah Badu-Love of my life this morning and I was really feeling it today haha decided to make it my warmup sketch for today . Weather is frickin' beautiful right now-I got Q-tip,Mos Def, the Roots and Broken Bells on constant rotation :). Also, watch Rihanna's "Man Down" video directed by Anthony Mandler-Beautiful colours and staging.

Haven't painted traditionally in a while -theres nothing like it ,sooo relaxing.These are some paintings of Big cats from the zoo.
Was gonna paint a bunch of kids in the ghetto playing classical instruments . This is the first a cholo playing Violin.
This was pretty fun-a gift for a friend birthday and below a character I sketched up while watching a documentary on N.E.R.D. Her name is Bonnie-She kills monsters -sorry for the lack of posts . I have been working a lot -there will be a lot more posts coming...a lot more frequently.

My friend and talented classmate Natan (http://natanmouradeaquino.blogspot.com/) collaborated on a layout project together. It's a shot test -using the research we've been doing on a specific time period . In earlier posts I put up some character designs and prop design. It's also the end of the year and It feels like when you play Zelda and you get to the final boss -you finally get to use all of the weapons you gathered throughout the game together and beat the shit out of Ganondorf. We finally got to use the stuff we've been hearing about all year. The song in the video is Woodkid's "Iron" the actual video is ridiculously EPIC look it up it's dope. Enjoy.

^The homie Kat,who coincidentally is an EPIC runner and now has an injured knee :(.

I remember being younger and being a bit of a hypochondriac (a person who is always paranoid that they may be sick or injured).Sometimes to get out of going to school, to get out of doing homework stuff like that I'd say my head-hurt or something.
But now , I'm in college doing what I want to do for the rest of my life and having a blast, MY DAMN WRIST is acting up >:(. I'm pretty upset. I can't really draw for more than 30 minutes without stretching my wrist might not sound like a big deal but it is. It sucks. Don't know how much u love something till you can't do it anymore... :/ Hope it passes .

Sooo, if you haven't noticed the last few posts I've been ravin' about going back home to Ghana for the Christmas break I assure you this is the last you'll hear of it lol. Recently got an e-mail from my mum who reminded me of the time I was running after her in an over sized t-shirt (after she told me not to) and fell of my face scraping the skin off of my nose...While it scabbed over my nickname became "Rudolf" . I was probably between the ages of 9 and 10 - I used a picture of our living room back home.I thought it would be appropriate for the season :). Went to see Tim Burton Yesterday -He's a lot less quirky than I thought, it was cool.
