The Lord Of The Flies

I'm not gonna act like I'm big on books cuz I don't read nearly as often as I should ,but in High school ,one book that stuck was William Goldings "Lord Of the Flies".I remember it being terrifying in some areas not because of the imagery per say but the characters got really dark as the story progressed .No spoilers but i always doodled them in my textbooks -stayed up to do quick sketches of em' .Go read the book! Or check it out on Sparksnotes at least lol.Oh and I'm gonna stop these random 'floaty' character sketches haha I have too many! more layout :).Enjoy

My first sculpture

I made my very first sculpture this week. It turned out to be THE most therapeutic thing I have EVER done (I was also listening to Sade and The XX at the time but that irrelevant) . Spent about 3.5 to 4 hours on it ,I've been told he looks like Steve Beuschemi, Gollum and ,Willem Dafoes love child. G Under Pressure

Getting to the end of the year ,reaching certain checkpoints in projects such as this one, and not so much in others -__- oh well. Trying to keep busy , here's some more work from the group film I talked about a couple of posts ago, A lot has changed(naturally).The first 3 images were done tonight , expect more stuff soon ,there's a lot of it. Took me like 20 minutes to post these cuz blogger was being dumb. Also something I noticed while doing the top post -it's weird getting halfway through a drawing of a character and realizing which one of your friends it is! It's been happening a lot lately the last 4 things I doodled in my sketchbook looked just like friends ,what can i say they make for dope characters. Enjoy.

Firstly i wanna say thanks to Andre Barnwell -awesome dude(and insanely talented artist) I had the pleasure of meeting at TAAFI this weekend through the big homie Fred ,for plugging me on his blog-good looking out ,man means a lot!
Besides that I went to The Royal Winter Fair last week-mostly used it as an opportunity to practice drawing horses I wanna get better at drawing them without having to think until my brain explodes. i have a few more drawings o some chickens and pigeons but I can't find my usb :/ I'll probably update this later , Enjoy!

Working on a short film with some extremely talented people. Gonna be posting updates every now and then this is some of the stuff I've done to get a sense of the color scheme and the characters. I've been listening to "just a lil' dude" by Q-Tip :). As you could probably tell the story is about a little kid with a big afro -This is gonna be fun. Stay tuned.

Stay on your toes...

Couple of nights ago, I was with those Sketchy dudes I mentioned a while back : Freddy,Adam, Ollie & Michele -at Adam and Michele's shiny new apartment. And the night inevitably turned into what was probably the best art-jam session I've been a part of.These are the 20 minute drawings that came of it ;From the top : B-ball turtle, Mutated kids from the future, Steampunk dog pilot, Post apocalyptic Viking woman(I basically drew a dude with boobs ha!) ,Crazy Tentacle bitch, Samurai Fish-man & Biker croc. Fun times - It's always good to have people who keep you sharp and are willing to do stuff like this .
